Enough to wear me out

Cold days are going to wear me out. On a normal Thursday morning, David and I go for a walk with some good friends of mine. I enjoy the exercise, and he is happy to ride along. After we are done chatting with our friends, we head on home for a snack and play together for a few hours before Allyssa gets home. Sometimes, we run to the store to grab a quick something like milk, but Thursdays are pretty slow usually. We spend a lot of time outside in the sandbox or on the swing set.

On a cold day like today, it is too cold to play outside. It is too cold to go for a walk. That means that we're inside. We went to the store yesterday, so we didn't need to do that. So this is what this morning looked like after Allyssa went off to school.

David cried. He wanted shoes on, and he wanted to go with Allyssa to school. An art project distracted him. We changed the wreath on his bedroom door from one of snow flakes to one with hearts on it. (He glued paper hearts on the wreath after I took the snowflakes off.) Then, we got supper prepared. It is a crockpot meal, so we prepped it early. After that, he wanted to do another craft. We made a long paper chain. We made cookies. He ate strawberries. He ate cookies. We put things in the recycling. Then he wanted me to cut out more hearts. We played with his toy animals. We put more things in the recycling. He jumped on my bed while I folded a few pieces of laundry and put them away. We let the dog in. He fed the dog a treat. We danced. He raced me around the couch. I won until he started cheating. We put more things in the recycling. We pet the dog. The dog had gas, so we sent her back outside. She had been asking to go outside ever since she came in anyways. She doesn't like to be in. We made mashed potatoes for supper. We swept and cleaned parts of the floor. We washed his booster seat. We put the rug Aiti laid on in the wash. We picked up the pieces of pink paper scattered around the floor. We watched Aiti from the window. We listened to music. We danced. We looked at photos. We made lunch. We swept the floor some more because David wanted to again. We cheered for Daddy to come home. Allyssa and Daddy came home. Whew. What a morning!

Here comes the afternoon.
