Christmas

When David and I had been married a couple years and not able to be home for Christmas Eve service at church, I was rally sad. We got to leave after Christmas, but missing Christmas Eve singing was hard for me. We haven't been home for Christmas Eve or Day services since, but it has gotten easier. Every year except last year, we've been able to come up for a visit after Christmas, and lat year, my family came to our house. David's parents and one sister live in China, so the last two years we've gotten together with his other sister over Thanksgiving.

This year we had a nice Christmas Eve service at church. The big kids (3.5 and 5.5 yrs) both were given candles. I was a little worried, but they both did fine. We got a nice picture all dressed for church under the tree at church.

Christmas Day service was also nice. Both services were communion services, and that was really nice.

After church, we drove to my parents' house. It snowed. When we lived in Minnesota I had my first white Christmas, but it didn't actually snow on Christmas Day. This was my first actual snow on the day. Allyssa was thrilled! She played in it at night on Christmas Day, and then again the next day. It was retry melted on the 27 at my parents', but we went over to my sister's who still had plenty. David, Jr. also went out, but Allyssa stayed out longer. She enjoyed making angels, playing icon snow-filled swing sets, and snow ball fights with Daddy and Papa.

We head back tomorrow, and Sunday is our last Sunday at Trinity in Sealy.
