High School

A friend of mine whose kids are similar ages to mine (her oldest is a couple years older, but she has 5 kids) was recently talking to me about high school. Of course, they have to plan ahead because, if I did my math right, they'll have kids in high school for 11 years and 8 of those 11 years will have 2 kids in high school at the same time. For them, public high school is not their preference, so planning in advance is crucial to make it through those 11 years!

This sparked a conversation at our house about high school. We've talked about Lutheran High North. We've also talked about Faith Lutheran Church in Plano, Texas which has an online program and Whittenberg Academy which is an online school.

Lutheran High North is local to us. Faith in Plano and Whittenberg Academy are both classical schools.

All three schools are great schools. We value Lutheran education very much, so Lutheran schools are definitely on our radar. If you are looking into Lutheran high schools in Houston, there are two, Lutheran High North and Lutheran High South. If you are looking into classical high schools while there are some in the Houston area, there are no Lutheran classical high schools at this time. The two listed above are the two online Lutheran classical schools.

It is 8 years until our oldest graduates from Our Savior Lutheran School and goes to high school, so there is no need to worry about where we will send her now, but it is nice to know that there are many good options!
