Oktoberfest

Our school has two big fundraisers each year. The one is the Spring is a fun run and the one in the Fall is Oktoberfest. This was our first Oktoberfest here.
The excitement started a few weeks ago with selling of raffle tickets. The kids selling all of theirs (20, I think for 1 kid or 25 for a whole family of kids) got to have snow cones at school. Then there was a scarecrow contest. Allyssa's class got 3rd place (remember the minion). Allyssa's class also had a coloring contest to do. Also, each class had a booth. Some booths were typical Oktoberfest kind of booths like bean bag tosses and the like. The fun part about it is that each class does a theme and decorates their booth with the theme. Since the booth decorating is a contest, they turn out really fun! The contest includes that the ones who have the most student participation in the projects to make it get a higher score. Allyssa's class was the Glamor Booth. The kids could get their nails done, hair spray colored, braids added, a fake tattoo, that kind of stuff. Our class decorated it with a beachy theme. The kids made surf board people with their photos as faces, there were palm trees with paper mache coconuts, etc. It turned out really cute.
In addition to all the booths the kids prepared, there were bounce houses, slides, and obstacle courses, a rock wall, a pony ride, and twist/upside down ride, and a hay ride. Then there were auctions, food, a coffee bar. The kids got tokens for going to the different booths and got to turn those in for prizes.
It was pretty awesome!
The week leading up to it, I had volunteered to help set up, but sadly we had a sick kid, so we missed out on that part of the fun, but everyone was well on Saturday for the big day!
I wish I would have gotten a picture of David, Jr. on the hay ride with his dad. They both RAVED about it on the way home (it was an AWESOME hay ride).
Here are the couple of pictures I did take:

David went as Tom Sawyer, but his mom didn't let him bring his cane fishing pole. Allyssa went as Pippi Longstocking.
