This Weekend

We wanted to do something this weekend, but since we went to the zoo last weekend (we have a membership there and go pretty often) and everything else we could think of cost a fortune, we decided to explore some walking trails near our house. We had been on about half of the trail before, so we started at the other end.

The trail runs along the bayou and through a couple of parks. One park has a pond area where some ducks swim, and we got introduced to this fellow. The nutria! We didn't know what it was, but luckily a man and his son had also just walked over to the pond and saw it, too. He knew what it was.

We enjoyed a relaxing afternoon after that. We played some games, played outside, and watched some gymnastics competitions. Kaytlin was ready to eat and tried to help get supper on the table.
Then on Sunday, we were all looking forward to Daddy preaching, a guest speaker at Bible class, and going to an afternoon birthday party for our friends, but a certain little girl got sick.
Poor kiddo. Hopefully she'll be better tomorrow and back at school on Tuesday. Meanwhile, I got a ton of chores done this morning while the kids all played happily and quietly together. That is a rare occurrence since mornings are their best times and that is usually spent at school.
