I often talk to Allyssa about things that she should tell her baby sister. She will talk to my tummy and tell her that she's a lot of fun and that David is, too. She tells her that there are toys to play with and that she'll have a lot of fun.
Today, during her snack though, she told me what she wants to tell Kaytlin after she's born.
Allyssa: We can read the Bible to Kaytlin when she's a baby.
Me: That's a good idea.
A: That way she'll know about Jesus dying on the cross.
Me: That's right.
A: She'll need to know that.
Me: Oh? Why does she need to know that?
A: Because it is good.
Me: Why is it good?
A: Because Jesus died to forgive Kaytlin and us.
Me: That's right. That is good!
A: Jesus didn't want to die because it hurt.
Me: Yeah.
A: He did it anyways because he needed to die for us.
Me: That's right.
A: The disciples didn't want him to die.
Me: No.
A: We'll need to tell Kaytlin about that.
What better thing to want to tell your sister when she's born! Might as well start where it matters.
